                Hi, my name is Jeff Diotte, welcome to my website and thanks for the interest in my work. I have always had a deep admiration for knives, especially handmades. I got my first taste for them when I attended gun and knife shows as a boy. As I progressed into my teens I became interested in the tactical and Japanese styled customs being produced by makers like Tom Maringer and Phil Hartsfield, and the hunting knives ( I've always been an avid hunter ), by makers like Jimmy Lile and Glen Marshall. I started to make my first knives, and even a couple swords in the 1980's, when I was 13.  After years of trial and error, I decided to turn this addictive hobby into full time work in 1997. I am mainly a self taught maker, but give a great deal of thanks to friend and fellow maker Wally Hayes, who is a mastersmith with the American Bladesmith Society, for graciously taking the time to teach me to build folders , as well as other tips and tutorials.
